Day 3 ~New Moon~
New moon is in 2 days, but my moon time is here now. (warning: TMI ahead) I had no idea it was even starting, though if I listened to my body yesterday I would have realised that it was a challenge to meet my required calories because I was just not hungry. The only way I can tell it's that time again, is that I lose my appetite the day before it starts. I like to start fasts on the day before because it's like cheating! I don't have an appetite or cravings & the first few days are a breeze! I never get any symptoms like cramping, back pain, emotional disturbance of any kind or even heavy flow anymore. Before I changed my diet a few years back, this time of the month was HORRIBLE for me. I would lay crying wrapped around a heating pad on pain pills. It lasted 5-7 days and I would be moody & in pain with very heavy bleeding resulting in accidents especially at night. I missed work many times it was so awful for me. It SUCKED!! Now, what a different world! It lasts 2 days, is so light I don't feel it, and I only need the super thin or liners, not actual pads, even at night! Even when I went back to SAD for a year, it still never got really bad again, it stayed 3-4 days & pretty light, minor cramping if I ate greasy or heavy meals right before & durring. I'm sure it would've gotten bad again had I not returned to healthy eating.
I woke up today & put Charlie outside (my blue quaker parrot). The sun felt wonderful on my back as I put him in his cage. I would love to lay out today but the breeze is making it just slightly too cold still. I heard it was going to be cold all week.
Wow I just looked in the mirror & my skin has cleared up considerably in the past 2 days!!!! NICE!
I just noticed that if we take the word HEALTHY, it can be broken down into two seperate words: HEAL & THY meaning healthy foods are foods that have the power to heal thy self! Just had to share that!
Today I ate 1395 calories, 92.4% carbs - 4.5% protein - 3.1% fat:
Water with lemon
Fruit salad: hearts of romaine, green leaf & butter lettuce with mango, cucumber, celery, strawberry, raspberry, in a mango lime cucumber dressing
Blackberry tangerine juilus
White grapefruit julius
Medjool Dates
Small salad from WFM Salad Bar, 99.5% raw (the honey & oil & salt & pepper were prolly not but there was almost none total, mostly just whole foods with a sprinkle of 2 that had oil or honey)
