Day 30 ~Results~
WOOHOO!! Weighed in today at 189!!! My goal was to lose 28 pounds in this 30 day challenge and I did not quite do that.. but I did lose 21!! So I am thrilled!
I am still fasting, starting day 8 in like one minute!
I went to the gym & worked out for an hour, full body. Swam laps for a bit, layed in the sauna for a bit. Everyone else is sweating like crazy & i'm like dang they need to turn the heat up in here! I am tolerating heat so much better now! Played DDR all morning.
Had Flor-Essence in the morning & evening. Orange juice for lunch. Chai almond milk later on. Double shot of fresh wheatgrass a couple hours ago at Whole Foods Market, made me so sick.. I still feel ill actually. I threw up. Yuck. I will stick to the powdered alfalfa/kamut instead.
Ok so I made a warm chickpea miso soup with a dash of shoyu & maple syrup and a floating piece of kelp I wont be eating but hopefully will add some nutrients to the soup! It totally settled my stomach YAY
Day 29 ~One Day Left!~
OMGosh!! I can't believe tomorow is the end of my challenge already!! I am planning to still be raw for the most part, but maybe have steamed brussel sprouts or a baked potato sometimes too! We'll see! I feel so good and I am still fasting! I'm going to the gym tomorrow to see how much I lost in 7 days of fasting! I know I lost a bit more! That wasn't my goal with the fast, just a spring cleansing!
Day 28 ~Ahha~
So I figured out why my body didn't want to break my fast yesterday, it's that time again, you know that thing that happens to women every month? Well as usual I lose my appetite completely the day before it starts only since i'm fasting I didn't notice it! I just knew I didn't want food! I'm curious to see how it goes this time because it only lasted one day last month and was very light.
Well I am officially on day 6 of my fast now! WTG considering I only planned to really do one day! Now I plan to go at least 2 more days so I can go to the gym & weigh myself, curious to see how much I lost in a week of fasting!
Today I Drank:
Cream of mushroom soup (almond milk & blended/strained mushrooms, sea salt, pepper)
Vegetable broth (added more juiced veggies to the mushroom soup)
Chai milk
Cardio:
DDR on Standard & Heavy modes for close to 2 hours, aprox 800 calories burned.
Strength Training:
A bunch of stuff at home, going to the gym in 2 days!

Day 27 ~Still Fasting~
On day 5 of my fast now! I wanted to break my fast today or tomorow and then start up again for the 3days before Easter. But my body has other plans! Looks like i'm still fasting lol!
Today I drank:
Juice: tomato/celery/red pepper
Soup: creamy tomato (juiced tomato, blended & strained sundried tomato, sweet almond milk)
Soup: cream of celery (juiced celery, sweet almond milk)
Milk: chai (almond, lucuma, maca, date, peppercorn, vanilla, cardamom, anise)

Day 26 ~Found My Dream Home~
Ok so my body doesn't really want the milk anymore.. dosn't really want much of anything at the moment.
I juiced some pomegranites that were in my fridge since last year and they were so delicious!! I amazed they were still good! I am having a young coconut too.

Day 25 ~Easiest Fast Ever~

I can hardly believe how fast my fast is flying by! I'm on day 3 already! When I started I hoped to get through one day! After the first day it became a breeze! Yesterday all I really had was the juice of 3 grapefruits but I didn't really want it, I could've totally done without! Same with the milk, I didn't need it but it tasted good! The green juice I made I ended up giving to my mom after 1/2 a cup or so. I do love love love my Flor-Essence and I would fast off that alone if I had more of it!
Well yesterday I ended up getting a haircut.. more then I had planned too, I cut over a foot off! It looks much healthier now and it does grow really fast, but it sure feels like I am bald LOL!
I got a really nice compliment from my mom yesterday, she said she hates me! Because my skin looks SO GOOD! rofl
I still lay out most days for at least a half hour.
I think I may be doing a milk fast instead of a juice fast ROFL! It's what I want!!

Day 24 ~I Feel Like I Won The Lottery!~

It just kinda hit me a minute ago that I have lost almost 60 pounds in the past almost 4 months! If I lose only 40 more I will weigh what I did after I lost my pregnancy weight eating raw in the summer of '04! I felt & looked great back then! I seriously already feel like a whole new me & I am really making my goals happen! And fast!
So yesterday I figured I would commit to one day of fasting and see how I felt after that. Today I am feeling so good that I really want to continue another day! I am feeling like my outsides need to be more in line with how I feel on the inside so I am cleaning house today & organizing & getting rid of clutter & excess.
I feel SO INCREDIBLY GOOD!!!

I closed my old ezboard forum and moved to a shiny new SMF board which I am liking more & more every day! I love the new features but I am still having a time customising some parts. I love coding so i'm having alot of fun with my new challenge! Keeps my brain happy when i'm learning new things!
The picture is of my 2 chickens, Chickie (black silkie chicken) and her adopted baby named Sunshine who is twice her size now! This is an old pic from when Sunshine was still little! Everyone should have at least 2 chickens! They are the best! It is amazing how much grass & greens they need to eat! I feel so sorry for chickens in factory farms.. :(

Day 23 ~Equifasting~

Happy Equinox!
Last night I started a fast. Don't know how long I will go for but the minimum is one day! I also don't know how it will go this time because each fast I’ve done has been different. I am going to be continuing my Flor-Essence in the morning and evenings for now. I plan to drink lots of water and probably wheatgrass, green juice, fruit juice and Nature’s First Food. We shall see how it goes.. Wish me success and good cleansing!
I have lived in Las Vegas for at least 12 years now and I am so beyond ready to move on. I have spent my whole life moving around and I am not used to staying in one place so long. I feel like there is just nothing holding me here except the small handful of people, 5 people, that are my family and close friends. And Go Raw Cafe's salad bar of course! I long to be somewhere GREEN not brown & dusty. I have had quite enough of this desert and it's extreme heat that gives me heat stroke & nosebleeds all summer. I usually hibernate durring summer months, I sleep through the hottest part of the day & am up all night. My ideal teperature would prolly be San Francisco, but they are going loopy out there in CA and denying people their constitutional rights. As a gun owner I am NOT giving up my right to bear arms.
So anyway where I was going with all that is that summer is coming and I have been dreading it as usual. Especially since it has been too hot for me already this past month. So I've decided to change my belief about this summer. My new reality is that summer flys by so quickly now and the heat is not so extreme when i'm eating raw! It is perfectly tolelrable!
Last night I was ill from eating too much fats & combined stuff. I felt HORRIBLE. But I adjusted my thoughts to it moves through me quickly and all is well, and about an hour later I felt fine!
I get to go to the gym today! *does happy dance*
A little something to ponder over.

Day 21 ~PHREAKIN PHENOMINAL~
I just spent like an hour or so in my kitchen today off & on.. I have a batch of sweet onion bread in the dryer making my house small PHENOMINAL. I recreated a few of the dishes on Go Raw Cafe's salad bar as best as I could. They do not taste quite the same but OMG one actually tastes EVEN BETTER then theirs! Who woulda thunk it! I made this carrot dish with currants & sunflower seeds, oriental stir fry & beet slaw! I prepped enough for several days. OMG I RAWK.
Did I mention that I freakin love food? Raw food tastes better then ANY cooked food. I mean that. If you don't think so, just come to my house & i'll prove it.

Day 20 ~Belief System~
I realised that my previous belief system was just not working for me. I was not getting the results I want. So I am letting it go. Done. I don't know what was going on in the past but I don't need to waste time concerning myself with it now. Moving forward!
I now eat the best food ever and maintain my perfect weight EFFORTLESSLY!

Havn't felt like working out for the first time in months.. I havn't been keeping up on the housework as much either. Just barely getting by lately instead of having the whole house clean & looking for things to do to burn my energy like I do when I eat low fat... sigh. Now I just want to sit infront of the computer..
Sounds so easy to say well why don't you just go back to it then? Duh! lol.. it's just not that easy when I am so addicted to the fatty things I love the taste of! Once I get inspired & go for it again I will have to be more careful not to treat myself. I get a taste of that stuff & it's like crack!!!

Day 18 ~I'm DOOMED!!!~
So like fat tastes sooooo good! ROFL!~ I just finished up the salad from Go Raw yesterday & then made myself a garden vegetable dip that was OMG yum. My tastebuds are trying to get me to resign myself that i'm doomed to be fat forever. I am arguing with them & trying to convince myself that I can just excercise for 6 hours a day so I can eat avocados & nutbutters!
Last time I was raw for 6 months & kept gaining & gaining to the point where I started hating my body & hating God because it was some kind of cruel joke that everyone else lost so much eating date nut tortes & all sorts of high fat stuff. This time, even though it is upsetting, I am not going to let it drive me back to cooked stuff! I'll be fat either way so at least I know I will feel better eating raw. sigh. Why do I have to like food so much?!!!! If their was a pill I could take to make me not like food I would actually take it. And I am the most anti-drugs & meds person i've ever known.
So enough whining..
My mom told me something funny today. She said fresh juice in her new addiction & that it's totally replaced the Starbucks addiction! She says the whole time she is at work she can't wait to get home & make juice! She says she can almost taste it! hahahaha that's so cool huh?

Day 16 ~I GAINED WEIGHT! (grrrr)~
Today was my weigh in day at the Gym... every Wednesday I do this since like November.. so anyway I gained for the first time since November!!! Why? Well if you look back over my last few days you will see that I went back to eating the fattening 'eat what you want as long as it's raw' way :(
I so need to get back on track before this gets out of hand. :(

Day 15 ~Half Way Point~
Daaaaaaaang.. half way through my 30 day challenge already! Tomorow is my day for going to the gym & weighing in. I'm hoping to have broken that 200 pound mark. Wish me luck!
I am still eating high fat at the moment. My medium term goals are to get back to low fat raw and then to start reading up & learning about fruitarianism. I am so drawn there & always have been so I know it's just a matter of time before my head convinces my taste buds lol. I so resonate with the idea that nothing, not even a plant, has to die for me to live.
I started a cleanse today. Flor-Essence in the mornings & evenings. I just brewed a batch this afternoon & had some before bed. Tastes so good, I love the stuff!

Day 14 ~Going With The Flow~
I pretty much just ate whatever again today, seems to be a trend lately lol. I don't feel as vibrant as I could. My energy is not the same. I'm not as inspired or motivated right now. It feels like I detoured back into cooked foods, only not neary as bad. I think I will just go with the flow for now & get back to low fat when I am inspired to again. Right now I just really want to eat mushrooms with lots of avocado!
Staying raw is totally not even an issue anymore, I love raw foods! Now my issue is staying mostly low fat. I know my body feels better that way but I just love food LOL! I want to make fancy recipes & try all sorts of stuff! I am so afraid to gain back any weight though, so I will see how it goes when I weigh myself. I do NOT want to be heavy anymore, I am SO done with that reality. It's holding me back in many ways & I want those chains off me.

Day 13 ~Best Day EVER!~
I went to a buffet for dinner and played a few rounds of DDR at the arcade. A kid came up to me & handed me 1.50 worth of tokens & said have fun I have to leave. That was pretty cool.
Later I went to China Town and got a cherimoya, a huge jackfruit & a durian.. all fresh!! I took some pictures of them for my desktop background too! They came out good! :D Sonja had to go to the bathroom while we were there and so I had to leave the produce section & go to the back by the meat counter.. well they had tanks full of live animals to eat! It was awful! They had different clams, some things i've never seen before & don't know what they are from the ocean, trout, giant shrimp and the most beautiful giant bullfrogs i've ever seen! I almost cried! Sonja was like why do they have them here? I told her because some people actually like to eat them. She got very upset & told me we have to rescue them!

Day 11 ~Coincidence?~
Is it all just coincidence? Or could it be because I have not eaten low fat in the past couple days? I almost feel like I ate SAD! My energy is just not the same. I had a sip of almond milk so far, but I think I really want to go back to low fat now. Party's over lol. No fleeting temporary taste of food is worth not feeling phenominal.

I noticed after eating "whatever I wanted so long as it's raw" on day 9.. today I have heartburn & I am dizzy.
I also decided to eat whatever I wanted so long as it's raw again. Those carob squares were tough to resist! I also had a huge salad with chickpea miso & cashew butter dressing. Some onion bread.. what else? Oh a half a jar of olives. Almond milk. A lettuce wrap with cashew butter, avocado & fermented veggies. There is no way I can log all this stuff over at sparkpeople.com!
Cardio:
10 minutes DDR on standard mode- ankle didn't hurt after, but was sore to the touch again.

Day 9 ~CELEBRATION!~
I totally splurged today! I ate whatever I wanted so long as it was raw! Celebrating is fun sometimes! I had strawberry cheesecake from WFM, portabellas in sweet shoyu sauce & carob bars at home, Mediterranean wraps, spicy olives, beet slaw & a durian/coconut shake at Go Raw Cafe! What a day! :D
That's what I love about going low fat raw... besides the results LOL! It's like before I would eat anything so long as it was raw, then cheat with cooked foods or give in to cooked cravings or go back to it for whatever reason. Now cheating for me is having a whole avocado or carob bars and eating whatever I want so long as it's raw! I love it! :D
Ok so here are my results so far at less then 10 days:
The bottom of my right foot has been itching like crazy since yesterday lol
My skin is looking amazing!
I'm starting to get a nice tan!
Still clearing quite a lot of mucous.
I'm not stiff when I wake up in the mornings now, I can get right up & do physical work now! It used to take me 2 hours or more to "wake up" and I would usually sit at the computer during that time all stiff & sore before I could do anything!
My endurance is so much more then it used to be!
I have energy for whatever I want or need to do, it's just always there when I need it.
My attitude is so much more positive! It takes a lot more to get under my skin now.
Only had one minor panic attack & it was only from the caffeine in the kombucha!
I can be around sick people & not have to worry about 'catching' it. Mom's been sick for days now from eating really crappy lately.
I have lost 8 pounds since I started this challenge 9 days ago!
Oh! Check this out! My period only lasted 24 hours this time!!! It used to be 5-7 days & AWFUL! Then I went vegan & raw off & on & it became 3-4 days, then lately 2-3 days. Now it's ONE DAY! I don't have pain or even notice it's there! So much less trash too :D
I go to bed earlier & wake around 8am everyday naturally now! No more insomnia!

Day 8 ~Goodbye Clutter & Excess~
I had 2 small kombucha drinks for breakfast. I didn't think the caffiene would affect me, but it did. I had a panic attack and didn't feel good most of the day. I had a ton of energy though LOL. I decided to make good use of it & clean out my closet & go through my drawers & boxes of clothes. I got rid of a bunch of old stuff that no longer resonates with me. Even my sock drawer is organised now! I feel the need to make my outsides look like my insides are starting to... clean & free of clutter & excess!
My ankle feels lots better but is still very sore to the touch & I have to be careful with it.Going to the gym tomorow & will record my new weight!

Day 7 ~Red Flag~
Well since I have to stay off my feet so my ankle can rest, I ended up eating for amusement today. I did not stick to my low fat plan and ended up eating an avocado, maple syrup & Nama Shoyu which I was previously staying away from due to not being whole foods & high in salt & sugar, low in minerals, or in the case of the avocado, limiting to smaller less frequent portions. I can FEEL that my cleansing has weakened considerably! Also I did not want to stop eating & wanted more & more. I have a taste for it now. I had no cravings until I ate that & now it's unplesent to be wanting something so much. Red flags are going up. I smell chemical addiction.
I'm looking forward to watching Heroes tonight, we finally get to see who Linderman is! Looks like a good show.
Someone nearby is BBQing.. smells good. I'm getting better at enjoying the smells instead of wanting the actual foods.

I am on crutches at the moment.. from one minute to the next my ankle went from bad to OMG I can't walk! I spent almost an hour on my kitchen floor with ice packs before I crawled back to my room. It was funny because I had just made a juice (luckily I finished making it) and made some food for Sonja so we ended up sitting on the kitchen floor & eating together while listening to a David Wolfe lecture that was playing on my iPod over the kitchen speakers. It was nice except for the pain LOL. I still can't figure out what messed it up in the first place. I assume it was either something I did at the gym or playing DDR or something. I really want to play DDR!!!! I used to take being able to walk for granted! You just don't appreciate the little things, like being in good working order, until they are gone!
I conquored another buffet today! I am proud of myself because it's my favorite one & I don't get to go as often as I would've once liked to! I had watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe & I picked at a salad I didn't much like. I stayed on my plan and I had enough to eat! I left there feeling great!

Day 5 ~Sunshine~
I was able to lay out for an hour this morning! It felt so nice. I missed that the past couple days. It was actually still too cold to lay out, and I froze for the first half hour LOL but I just kept at it & it did get warmer towards the end there!
My ankle is still messed up so no cardio yet.. I look forward to being able to do that again soon..

Day 4 ~Garden of Eden~
Yesterday when I ate that little dish of salad at WFM, I could feel my energy change. Even the tiniest bit of non-optimal eating can have such a strong reaction once the body has gotten a taste of health & well-being. My resolve to not do that again is strong!
I havn't really felt like eating much since the night before last. I prefer juice or small bites here & there. I actually feel like I am fasting most of the time. It feels good.
I have been going to bed earlier and waking around 9am. I like this so much better then insomnia and staying up so late!
I can't stop looking at my face, my skin is so much nicer now. It is unbelievable, even for me who knows the power of diet, that my skin is so much better in such a short time.
Day 3 ~New Moon~
I woke up today & put Charlie outside (my blue quaker parrot). The sun felt wonderful on my back as I put him in his cage. I would love to lay out today but the breeze is making it just slightly too cold still. I heard it was going to be cold all week.
Wow I just looked in the mirror & my skin has cleared up considerably in the past 2 days!!!! NICE!
I just noticed that if we take the word HEALTHY, it can be broken down into two seperate words: HEAL & THY meaning healthy foods are foods that have the power to heal thy self! Just had to share that!

Day 2 ~Gratitude & Joy~
Wow I feel phenominal! I felt great yesterday too until about 10pm. Then I was suddenly tired, from one minute to the next I had energy then suddenly I didn't! So I honored my body & rested. I went to bed early.
Woke up this morning and had that wonderful energy again! My default state of being has returned to gratitude & joy like it always does when I clean up my diet! Love that!
I just finished a half hour of cardio & a mug of white grapefruit juice, then sat down to read some blogs here for inspiration! I am going to the gym later. I am planning to stop by Go Raw Cafe for a green juice on my way to the gym. I will prolly clean & move some fishtanks around this evening. Not much else on the menu for now. I was planning to lay out in the sun & listen to some of the stuff I downloaded to my iPod from thebestdayever.com but it looks like rain! I love rain!
Here we go again! My sense of smell & taste is so heightened! Last time I went low fat, high raw I had some weird sensory issues.. I could no longer drink water out of plastic water bottles because it suddenly tasted like juiced plastic. I started buying the more expensive glass ones, luckily I wasn't requiring nearly as much water due to the high water content foods! I could no longer eat with metal silverware and I switched to bamboo sets. I had to move my rat tank out of my room, which never bothered me before. Now this time around my fishtanks are bothering me! I am going to move at least two of them into the living room later.
